Four years ago, I made the decision to leave nonprofit marketing leadership and build a business focused on helping organizations tell their stories more clearly and effectively.
Recently, I had the opportunity to reflect on that journey as a brand strategist and storyteller in an interview with VoyageOhio. We talked about the experiences that shaped my career, the lessons I’ve learned as a business owner, and why I believe strong brands are built through clarity, consistency, and authentic communication.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with nonprofits, healthcare organizations, associations, and businesses to develop brand strategies, messaging frameworks, content, and communications that help people better understand who they are, what they do, and why their work matters. While every organization is different, the goal is always the same: helping people connect with the mission, value, and impact behind the work.
The interview also shares some of the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship, the importance of community, and how organizations can use storytelling as a strategic tool rather than simply a marketing tactic.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to share more about my journey and the work I love doing every day.
